He surfs, he snowboards, he works out almost everyday and he has an active full time job, oh, and he loves to cook! How does he find the time for it all? Meet the man with NO excuses…

First with the nitty gritty…

What are your stats: I’m 35 years old, 5’7″ and a lean 136lbs

What do you do for a living? I work full time as a Freight Platform Manager, it is a very active job, I walk about seven miles a day.

Do you have any kids? Nope, it’s just me.

Are you happy with your body? Pretty much, yes, I could put on a few more pounds though.

Do you naturally have a fast metabolism, or do you feel you really have to work to keep slim? I have a very high metabolism.

What is your favorite part of your body? My Abs.

What is your least favorite part of your body? My shoulders, they’re a little bony.

How often do you work-out? 6 days a week, Sunday is always my rest day.

Do you keep a work-out schedule? Yes, all my workouts are planned.

What is your usual workout? I have DVD’s of Beachbody programs. I am hooked on Insanity: The Asylum which is my favorite. I also like to run.

Do you often workout outside? I like surfing of course, snowboarding, hiking, inline skating, kayaking… That kind of stuff. I don’t do that as often as I’d like to but I block one week a year to go snowboarding. I don’t live close to the shore so surf sessions depend on how my schedule matches with the tide, swell, waves etc.

Do you use exercise equipment? Resistance bands, weights, stability ball, and medicine ball.

Do you push yourself hard when you work out? By the sweaty mess I am when I’m done I would say YES!!

How often do you change workouts? It depends on the program I’m doing. Usually every 60 to 90 days.

What are your top reasons for working out? I like to being active.

Do you ever skip a workout? No.

How do you keep motivated? I have fun working out, that’s keeps me motivated.

Do you have one tried and true tip to make exercise effective? Never skip warm-up and stretch.

Do you have any health issues that you feel make things harder for you? I only need to be a little careful with my left knee due to an old injury at soccer.

So you’re obviously very driven to keep in shape! Lets talk about your nutrition…

What does a typical healthy day look like for you?
Breakfast: coffee (black), french toasts, butter, jam, orange juice (home made), cereals.
Lunch: salad, meat (anything chicken, beef, pork…) with veggies, cheese, fruit (seasonal).
Snack: Shakeology
Dinner: miso soup, grilled fish with white rice and soy sauce, fruit or dessert.

Do you take any supplements, including vitamins, and protein powder? P90X results & recovery formula and Shakeology.
I like the P90X formula because since I drink it I don’t experience muscle soreness after the workouts (especially the day after) anymore. As for Shakeology it’s filling and works wonders on my transit and immune system. I have both almost everyday (5-6 times a week).

Do you eat out? Not really. Mostly Japanese/sushi places and gastronomy restaurants.

Do you pay attention to organic, local, etc…? I cook and I try to use organic, local and fresh products as much as I can.

Do you like to cook? I love it!

What are some of your favorite recipes? Anything traditional French and Japanese.

What are your favorite “naughty” foods? I consider nothing naughty when it comes to food. It’s all about balance.

Portion sizes, what are yours like? Medium, I don’t stuff myself, but I eat a good amount.

How often do you drink alcohol? Not very often, mostly on occasions. I stick with beer and wine when I drink.

Do you have a hangover cure? Shakeology. A big rush of adrenalin works pretty well too!

Do you often skip meals? No. Sometimes I skip breakfast if I wake up late.

How do you stay motivated to eat healthy? It’s a pleasure and not a duty.

So tell us a bit about your lifestyle…

How often do you go out with your friends? Couple times a month. Usually we go out to bars and restaurants.

Are you close with your family? Yes. My brothers and I share the same hobbies and values.
